Best to see a dermatologist and they may advise on topical steroids or laser treatment to it if you want to deal with the redness. If you only want to camouflage then FUE into it or SMP may be an option. Not sure if it is raised up or other variants but essentially have a consultation to see what is possible.

@@user-nu7en8cy8w Depends on scar, fibrosis, raised up etc but usually around 30 FU per cm2. It is not about totally hiding but improving and some need a second pass if they want to go shorter.

Wait 10 - 12 months and have a review with the clinic who did it and get it all photographed and documented prior to any repair. A patient is under the duty of care of the clinic they chose for the surgery and that clinic will usually ask for a review at 12 months. This is more so important is there is going to be any legal process. Then once all done see several clinics for consultation and the patient needs to really make sure they get it right second time around and research well.

Thanks for the question. Essentially we would have several questions for the patient to see probably what is best. How many grafts need to be removed, are there any irregularities such as pitting, cobblestoning, ridging, tenting etc. Do they want to re-use the hair or simply get it removed? How do they usually heal to cuts and injury and what is their skin tone. If one only wants the hair removed and not re-purposed then go for a clinic that will specialise in laser and electrolysis. It will also be a journey, it may grow back and the patient needs to be prepared for multiple sessions. IF they want to re-use then it needs to be punched out and with our protocol also it is a journey as we take only a percentage each time. It is costly and as said requires patience. Our FUE removal traditionally heals very well due to our protocol, experience and skill set but we would also advise a patient to see a specialist experienced in hair removal with other means and let them inform the patient as to what they can expect in terms of healing, costs, sessions. If there are skin issues as said like cobblestoning, ridging, then the patient will also need skin resurfacing. Sincerely it is best not to be a repair patient and for people to really research and take hair transplantation with the seriousness it warrants. Apologies for the length of this but it is a complex situation and needs a bespoke approach for the patient once you see their goals and challenges and all.

@@bhrclinic If the transplanted hair can be reused, I would like to use it for the donor (FUT) at the back of the head. However, my top priority is to avoid creating new scars on the hairline. my skin is relatively white. There are no large depressions in the skin under the transplanted hair, but if you look closely, you can see the texture of the pores of the transplanted hair. If I were to remove the hair with FUE, would the pores improve at the same time? Also, the density of the transplanted hair is high and there are many hair roots close together. In that case, will a scar remain if I remove all the hair roots at once?

@@user-fq6tw9dx8q You can't remove all at once, you will need at least 3 sessions usually and then to place into FUT scar you need a lot of information as to how this is done and what density as scars are usually with less blood supply etc. So, have some really good consultations with doctors who are experienced and then see what is the best approach. Skin can improve once you punch out grafts as there is a collagen release also but not all doctors are the same so need to keep in mind the approach, experience and skill level will vary.

@@user-fq6tw9dx8q SMP to scar is a bit more challenging and can fade faster. The hair colour of the patient is important and also if they wish for SMP and multiple treatments. Not all are willing to put any ink on their skin and have also some concerns with that side of it so may want only hair. This is where goals and approach are important and the patient has an in-depth consultation.

@@SefsonGH Females usually prefer strip. They don't want to shave for FUE historically. Men are the opposite usually and want FUE only.

With any surgery we have to keep in mind donor limitations, loss potential and also the wishes of the patient in how conservative they want to go and saving also for future loss. Look at the difference from zero to the 9 month one...also the length of hair..a hair transplant is placed more so in the crown at less density due to the design also and not with intention also to never see any skin. He also had nice improvement from six to nine and will from nine to 12...we placed less grafts in the crown than the hair line as is usual. A quick question though.,.what do you think of the hair line? Is it okay for six months ??

Improving people who have made bad choices is different than putting people into bad situations. For example we don't operate on under 25 usually but did repair an under 25 year old who had unwisely had surgery that was very pluggy. Had he come to us originally we would not have operated but that is different once they have bitten the bullet and are pluggy. Not operating is not an option then really as it is on a virgin case whom you want to save a world of trouble. Many who have repairs would have been far better off not having surgery at all. It is about then trying to improve their situation that is not the same as offering HT to non-candidates. A good question and I hope this makes sense to you.

TBH that doesn't help but both him and his brother are losing and his dad has advanced loss and this has also been an issue from a good while ago and when he was not so bulked. I personally would not say this is lifestyle choice loss but more inherited.

Look around nape and ears and you see retrograde alopecia..so this also amputates a part of the donor. His donor was not high density, around 70 or so. So really need to have careful harvesting.

Absolutely, same as many things I guess but the great news is if they are not okay with it then there are options. It intrigues me why people who are okay with it are on hair transplant channels though. I am not interested in many things and generally won't spend time on such things that do not interest me at all, so it does intrigue me and often it is a sign of non actually coping as well as they think they are. Hi ,sorry to hear you need removal. Hard to say without seeing the hair line but if you do not want to re-use the hair then see a clinic for electrolysis if you just want to kill the follicles. Many will want to remove and re-plant as often the donor has also been over harvested, so then we need to perform surgery and also in stages. Either way, surgery or electrolysis, you are looking at sessions and price can also be a factor in a decision that a patient makes according to their budgets.

Really depends on how good your surgery is, what tools and experience they have to allow this. This patient of ours shaves down to 1mm with no problem but most clinics you will not be able to do this without signs of surgery. www.international-hairlossforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=366

We have to make sure to harvest outside of that area and make good use of the safe donor, small punches, spread well to get finer singles also and good deployment of grafts to give an outstanding result with as least grafts as possible. We have other cases whereby the patient had significant retrograde. I can link some if you wish to see them.
